How to Contour

Contouring the face is a very important step in doing make up.  It brings shape and definition to the face.  Look at your face when you are not wearing any make up.  There are natural shadows on the face.  When you apply foundation, it creates an even color all over the face.  Contouring brings back in those natural shadows to the face.

I like to add a little contour and have it look completely natural.  I don’t want anyone besides a make up artist to know that I have contoured my face.

To correctly contour your face you need the NARS Ita Kabuki brush.  This is the only brush I have ever used to contour and it is amazing.  No other brush does what this one can do.  And this brush makes it so easy to contour.

Find the line on your face where the contour will go.  It’s just below the cheekbone, where the natural shadow is.  If you are having trouble knowing where it goes, draw a line from the tip of your ear to the corner of your mouth.  This is where you put your contour.

Last week my sister in law and brother in law took both our kids over night for a sleep over at their house.  I don’t know if I was more excited that John and I got to go out, or that we got to sleep in the next morning.  Getting to sleep in as late as we want is such a treat, it barely ever happens.  And we needed it!  We slept till after 11!!

I have to break down this outfit a little for you because I love each piece so much!  The sweater is soooooo soft, fits great and the print is beautiful, I have worn it several times in the last week.  Plus, it’s on a huge sale!  I love the coat so much for the unexpected shape, the stripes (which is different than the solid black or grey I’m used to seeing), it’s really warm and again, on a huge sale!

The leggings I can’t say enough.  I love to wear leggings!  My sister, Jaclyn, and my friend, Christian, both told me that these are the best leggings out there.  I was hesitant when I saw the price, but had to give them a try.  First of all, they might say “leggings” but they are the thickness of a ponte knit pant that have the fit of a legging.  The fit and comfort are out of this world!!  And super flattering!  I started to think how much I spend yearly on replacing my $30-$50 leggings.  And I realized if these last me a whole year (which I guarantee they will) they will be worth the money.  Plus I get to wear a much more amazing pair of leggings all year!

For the last two weeks John and the kids have been home, no school or work!  I love spending so much quality time with my family!  I love it so much when my family is home with me!!

We have such busy schedules all year long, we always look forward to the week after Christmas before we have to return to real life.  We sleep in late, lay around in our pj’s every day, all day long relaxing and doing whatever we want to do.  It’s a lot of movies, games and eating.  Getting dressed is a big deal for any of us during this week! (this is why I’ve been missing the last week)

I can’t believe this week is already over.  The kids are back to school, John is back to work, and I’m back to running around like a crazy woman.  Although I already miss having my family home every day and all hanging out together, it does feel good to get back to more of a routine.  It also feels good to get back to a healthy diet and regular exercise.
