After the holidays I think we can all agree that we ate too much, drank too much and stayed up too late.  It has been several weeks of indulging in food, wine and champagne.  Doing a juice cleanse or several days of intense sweating work outs will flush the toxins out of your body.  But the skin doesn’t bounce back as quickly.  It will need some additional TLC and I have all the tips right here for you.

Hello 2015

Sweater: Hinge (on sale) / Jeans: Current Elliott, similar from J Brand / Booties: Vince Camuto ‘Amya’ Bootie (on sale) / Bag: Vince Camuto / Hat: Phase 3 Floppy Hat

I still can’t believe that it’s 2015, where did 2014 go?  It seemed to go by in a blink of an eye.  I would say that 2014 was one of my most fun years I’ve had as an adult.  There were so many fun experiences and amazing things that happened.  I’ve been thinking about New Year’s resolutions and goals for 2015.  One thing I really want to do better is to be more present with the people that are around me.  It’s very hard for me to turn my brain off and just relax and enjoy what’s happening in the now.  I’m always thinking about what I want to blog about, doing research or going thru photos, making lists in my head of all the things I have to get done, etc.  The second thing I want to do better, it goes right along side the first, is to not be such a perfectionist.  I demand such excellence and perfection out of myself that it’s hard for me to relax- ever!  I’m the only one that puts this pressure on myself and I’m very hard on myself when I don’t “do” what I think I should.

Over winter break I took a lot of time off where I completely turned off my phone and computer and just hung out with my family.  There were many days I stayed in my pj’s all day, didn’t put on makeup or do anything around the house.  I forced myself to not be “perfect” and just spend quality time with my family.  It was so much fun and I can tell my kids really enjoyed having all of my attention.  I look forward to more evenings and weekends like this.

What goals or resolutions have you made for yourself?  I love hearing from you guys!

Back to Working Out

The kids are back in school, John is back to work, winter break is officially over and it’s time for my regular schedule to return.  We spent 2 very relaxing weeks hanging out at home spending time together, sleeping late and non-stop eating delicious food.  I have gained a few pounds and now it’s time to get back to the gym.  I really didn’t want this amazing break to end and I’m having a hard time finding motivation to get my butt back in gear.  One thing that always helps me is buying some new work out clothes.  It may sound silly, but it works.  If I get a new pair of shoes, work out bag or new clothes, the desire to wear them motivates me to work out.  I know once I work out a few times it will feel so good that I will be motivated to keep working out and start eating really healthy again.  I’ve taken enough time off and now it’s time to shed these 8 pounds before summer!

Faux Fur Coat

Coat: Glamorous (sold out), so similar here, here / Jeans: Paige / Shoes: Joes Alyson Pump / Bag: Vince Camuto ‘Julia’ Satchel / Lip: MAC ‘Lickable’

Wearing a faux fur coat is one of the easiest ways to make a statement in your outfit.  Put on a pair of jeans, t-shirt and a faux fur coat and you have a look that is in style and very glamorous.  In this look I did natural makeup and a bold pink lip, which is another way to keep things simple and easy, while looking glam.  With so many faux fur coats out right now here are more that I’m loving: (I had to include these adorable faux fur slippers because they are too cute not to share :) )
