Tips & Tricks #14

  1. If you apply to much blush, bronzer, contour, etc use your foundation brush (without applying any new foundation) and blot the area.  This will diffuse some of the unwanted color.
  2. If your kids, or you, have a hard time getting all your veggies take a veggie supplement.  I use super green drink from Trader Joe’s and put it in smoothies.
  3. At night before bed, apply eye cream first, then your moisturizer or beauty oil (to a clean face of course!).
  4. Don’t ever let your fruit go rotten.  If you can’t eat it fast enough, first wash it then freeze it.  You can use it in your smoothies.  Frozen blueberries and frozen grapes make an awesome and easy snack.
  5. When ordering clothes online, if I am unsure of my size I order 2 sizes.  When they come I can try them both on and send the one back that doesn’t work (or return to the store).  This way I get the right fit every time and I never have to wait for an exchange.

We recently had some warmer weather in the 40’s.  I was so excited to have some “jacket weather”.   I love an outfit like this because it’s so easy to wear.  A jacket also makes jeans and a t-shirt look more chic.  If denim like this scares you, then try a solid pair of blue or black denim.  It will give you a similar look without being as bold.  I need to give a quit shout out to the lipgloss I am wearing.  I’ve been trying so many new lip products lately.  Then this week I stumbled upon this picture from fall and fell in love with this lipgloss all over again.  It is the perfect natural shade of lipgloss, it’s so creamy and feels amazing on my lips.  They have so many gorgeous shades to choose from!  Use code rachel to get 25% off their entire site.

A little spring inspiration for you…

I’ve been sick in bed since Sunday night with a sinus infection, ear infection and strep.  It’s been a rough week!  As I sit inside staring out at the frigid weather it makes me dream of warm weather.  I’ve been spending a lot of time on my computer finding new websites and shopping all new arrivals for spring.  I’m so over buying coats and sweaters.  Unless I can transition it into spring, I’m not buying it.  Hopefully next week I will be feeling better so I can get back to all the projects I have lined up.  I have several beauty projects I’m really excited about!

This weekend we are celebrating my husband’s birthday.  I like to stretch out the celebrating as long as possible, I love celebrating birthdays!  On Friday our kids stayed over night at my in-laws.  John and I went out and had a great time.  We slept in late on Saturday, went out to breakfast at Walker Bros (the best breakfast ever!), then went shopping for his birthday present.  Saturday night we had a family celebration with our kids.  On Sunday his family is coming over to celebrate.  I love my husband so much!  He is the most amazing man, husband and father.  I am so blessed to have him in my life!
