Tank Dress

Dress: Glamorous (less than $50, also comes in solid colors) / Jacket: Halogen / Shoes: Halogen / Bag: Rebecca Minkoff / Sunglasses: Diane Von Furstenberg / Watch: Kate Spade / Earrings: Marc by Marc Jacobs / Lip: Urban Decay ‘Obsessed’ Lipstick

Dresses like this is what I live in all summer long.  They are so comfortable and easy to wear.  I wore this yesterday to pick Sofia up from her last day of school.  Then I took the kids to Target to pick out some summer toys.  Then we were off to the park for a birthday party.  I slipped into a pair of flat sandals for the park.  I am so excited that school is done and it’s officially summer!!!!

Last summer Glamorous made a similar dress and it sold out in just a couple days.  This dress also looks really cute with a skinny belt, you can see here.

Close to My Heart

Every year on Mother’s Day and on each of my children’s birthday I am reminded of how blessed I am to have my 2 beautiful healthy children. Today I want to talk about something that is very close to my heart. My hope is that you will learn a little more about me and that I can be an encouragement to other women who are going thru something similar that I went thru.

I always knew I wanted to be a mother. When I was a young girl, teenager, early 20’s; when someone asked me what I wanted to do with my life I always answered “to get married and have children”. I dreamed of how many children I would have, what their names would be and how much I couldn’t wait to be a Mom.

When the time finally came for us to start trying to get pregnant I couldn’t have been more excited. John and I had been married for a couple years, we were so in love and wanted to start a family. Everything felt right in the world.

Girls Weekend Getaway

This past weekend I flew down to Florida to surprise my Mom for a girls weekend getaway.  My sister had been planning for weeks a fun weekend for the 3.  My Mom knew something fun was going to happen, but she didn’t know what or that I was coming.  She was so surprised!!  I was so excited for our weekend I could barley sleep!  It was the fist time the 3 of us have been together, just the 3 of us, for a fun weekend since Jaclyn and I were kids.

Be YOU!

I am pretty much a girly girl.  I love makeup, clothes, shoes, handbags, pretty candles, fluffy pillows, anything pink! I love to surround myself with everything pretty.  I find it so fun to get new shoes and figure out what outfits I can wear them with and what lipstick I’ll put on.  I love to get all dressed up to go out.  It makes me feel good to look pretty on the outside.  And I love to help other women get that confidence to feel beautiful.

But something more close to my heart than helping anyone look beautiful on the outside, is to help you know how beautiful you are on the inside.  I believe that true beauty is from within.  And when it shines out, others will find you beautiful.  Forget about all the things that you think are wrong with yourself.  Everyone woman (including me) has sat in front of the mirror and picked out all of the things that you don’t like about yourself.  Some of these things I was born with and I will never be able to change (unless I want to go under the knife… Yikes!).  Let’s be nicer to ourselves!

All the women you see on the cover of a magazine and on the runways, these are not the women you should be looking at to aspire to be.  ALL of them are airbrushed and photoshopped, who knows how many of them are on unhealthy diets, surgeries, procedures, etc to look the way they do.  Instead of trying to look like someone you think is beautiful, you should want to look like you! YOU are beautiful!  You were born such an amazing person!  Don’t let the media or society make you think any different.  You don’t need a new lipstick to be beautiful.  Sure it’s fun and I love putting on a new lipstick.  But the lipstick is not what is going to make me beautiful.

Be who you were born to be, BE YOU!  Embrace everything that you are.  If you are curvy, skinny, dark, light, freckles, wear glasses, short, tall, outgoing, quiet, totally weird…. it doesn’t matter!  Just be you!  Embrace every part of yourself.  Be the best version of you.  Find your inner confidence and rock it out!  Know how amazing you are.  Right now, where you are sitting- you are amazing!  You don’t need to change, just own it.

As women let’s agree to encourage one another to embrace who we are, and not be negative and mean.  We all have enough pressure on us to be a certain way and act a certain way, none of us need any more added pressure or negativity.  Go out today and compliment a woman who is a total stranger.  Go out of your way to say something nice to someone who you don’t normally talk to.  You might make someone’s day :)

You are an original!  Don’t try to make yourself a copy of someone else.  Embrace everything about yourself; the way you look and your personality!  Don’t change who you are for anyone!  Be you and rock it out!

Here is a silly picture of my family :)  Have a great weekend!!!
