My Every Day Makeup Look

my every day makeup look

Today I’m sharing my every day makeup look.  This is my go to makeup look that I wear on most days.  It takes me about 10-15 minutes to do.  I love that this look is neutral and very easy to do.  I change it up with different lipsticks depending on what I am wearing.  Let’s jump into it!

(I apologize in advance for all my weird faces!  I was doing my makeup and John was taking pictures.  I had no idea I made so many weird faces, lol!)

Best of Beauty 2015

best of beauty 2015

1. Buxom Lipstick:  I found this lipstick this fall in the shade ‘forbidden berry’.  I am obsessed with the formula!!  It is so smooth and creamy and lasts so long!  This shade has been my favorite go to shade all fall and winter.  I love it!  It’s the perfect berry shade!  Last week I got the shade ‘guilty angle’ and I’m just as obsessed!

2. NARS Lipliner:  This liner goes on so creamy and lasts forever!  I have this liner in the red color.  I wore it out for a date and it made my red lipstick last for more than 6 hours.  No bleeding, so smudging and not drying.

3. Beauty Blender:  I am very late to the beauty blender train.  Yes, I bought my first beauty blender this year.  And I don’t know why I waited so long.  I kept thinking it was just a hype and a fad and it really wasn’t that awesome.  I finally decided to find out for myself.  And it is amazing!!!  I don’t know how I lived without it!  It blends out my concealer so well and makes it look so natural and glowing.  Must have for everyone!

4. Champagne Pop Highlighter:  Of course this is a favorite of 2015!!!  It’s probably everyone’s favorite who tried it!  It’s the best highlighter ever!  It’s the perfect shade that works on all skin tones.  The glow is heavenly!  If you haven’t gotten this yet, it is a must have for any woman who wears makeup!  And the best news ever… they just announced Champagne Pop is permanent!  Ahhhh!!  You can read my full review on Champagne Pop Here.

How to Contour

Contouring the face is a very important step in doing make up.  It brings shape and definition to the face.  Look at your face when you are not wearing any make up.  There are natural shadows on the face.  When you apply foundation, it creates an even color all over the face.  Contouring brings back in those natural shadows to the face.

I like to add a little contour and have it look completely natural.  I don’t want anyone besides a make up artist to know that I have contoured my face.

To correctly contour your face you need the NARS Ita Kabuki brush.  This is the only brush I have ever used to contour and it is amazing.  No other brush does what this one can do.  And this brush makes it so easy to contour.

Find the line on your face where the contour will go.  It’s just below the cheekbone, where the natural shadow is.  If you are having trouble knowing where it goes, draw a line from the tip of your ear to the corner of your mouth.  This is where you put your contour.

MAC Lipstick Haul

MAC Lipstick

I recently went to the MAC counter and picked up several new lipsticks.  I wanted to get lipsticks that aren’t seasonal for fall, rather classic colors that look great all year.  I picked many different neutral shades, some with more pink, some with more peach, some lighter and some darker.  I love lipsticks that are easily wearable with any make up look and any outfit.
