What’s in My Beauty Travel Bag

Last night I flew to Tampa to meet up with my sister and mom.  This morning we are off to LA.  With all of this flying it’s easy for my skin to get dehydrated and dull looking.  Of course I want to put my best face forward, so it’s important for me to keep my skin looking bright and glowing.  Here is what I bring with me:

Clarisonic Mia 2: With all of the traveling, wearing lots of makeup and having my skin exposed to different things; it’s important to make sure that I’m getting a deep clean every day.

Fresh Peony Brightening Night Treatment Mask:  This treatment mask is the easiest and fastest way to bring brightness back into the skin.  Apply at night before bed, wake up in the morning to brighter skin.  Easy Peasy!

Fresh Lotus Moisturizer: This moisturizer packs a big punch.  It feels light weight and wears beautifully under my makeup all day, but is extremely moisturizing.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser:  What else would I bring for a cleanser?  Of course Fresh soy face cleanser!!  Do I need to say anything more?

Jo Malone Perfume, ‘Nectarine Blossom & Honey’: How is it that when you sit on a plane, not moving, you some how smell bad by the time you get off?  It’s the weirdest thing.  Is it just me?  I always feel gross and not fresh at all.  I carry a little perfume with me so I can at least smell fresh to anyone I meet just after landing.

Lush Breath of Fresh Air: When I take an early morning flight like I did this morning (we left for the airport at 5:00am) I am not wearing any makeup on the flight.  I pull out this little beauty and spray my face every 20-30 minutes.  It keeps the moisture in and stops that sucked out look when I land.  “sucked out”, is that a word?  It means when my face looks like all the moisture and hydration has been sucked out.

Glow by Dr. Brandt Revitalizing Retinol Eye Cream: This eye cream is amazing!  It lightens any dark circles under the eye and brightens everything up.  It even helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles.  Having lack of sleep and a non stop busy day?  Use this eye cream and Fresh peony brightening mask and your skin will not show it.

MAC Prep & Prime Highlighter:  Even with all of the brightening skin care I’m using, I still use my highlighting primer under eye.  This will brighten up the face in a natural looking, glowing from within way.  This can be used any where on the face you want highlighted.  Apply first before concealer and foundation.  I use this in shade ‘radiant rose’.

Fresh Seaberry Oil:  When I am gone for several days I will alternate using this seaberry oil and the fresh peony brightening mask.  I want to be bright, but I also need to be moisturized.  This oil is ah-mazing!!!  It hydrates the skin, creating a natural dewy look; it also helps to even out the complexion and makes the skin so soft.

Urban Decay All-Nighter Makeup Setting Spray: When I’m traveling I usually have very long days.  I put my makeup on in the morning and it has to last all day and into the night.  This would not be possible without this makeup setting spray.  Without it my makeup will show creasing within a few hours.  With this spray I don’t see creasing for at least 8-10 hours, some times longer.  Think of this as hair spray for your face.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation:  Continuing with all things that look naturally glowing, this foundation is the best!!  It is a medium to full coverage, lightweight and looks better as the day goes on.  How can a foundation be full coverage yet look like natural glowing skin?  Well, Giorgio figured it out!

Becca Highlight, ‘Opal’:  A great highlight will finish off the makeup look and give an amazing glowing look.  Any time the face is glowing you look fresh and well rested.  This highlight gives a glowing, angelic look.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream:  As some of you know, I have eczema and bringing a good body moisturizer is very important for me.  This one is amazing.  It is extremely moisturizing and never sticky or thick feeling.  Works great for normal/dry skin to skin issues.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Polish:  I still exfoliate 2-3 times a week no matter where I am.  This one is gentle and more moisturizing than what I typically use at home, which makes it great for travel.

Water, Water, Water:  Drink TONS of water!!!  There is nothing more dehydrating than flying.  I buy a huge bottle of water as soon as I get thru security.  If I need more on the flight I will ask the flight attendant to give me the bottle.  Seriously, that tiny little cup is for a cocktail, not for someone who is serious about hydration :)

  1. Doesn’t the Mia exfoliate? So if you use it every day, are you not exfoliating everyday? Just curious.

      1. When you are moving it around your face and it’s vibrating that’s not exfoliating? It does remove dead skin cells though too. I guess that’s confusing to me. I appreciate your response very much. Thank you! Have a blessed night.

        1. Or is it equivalent to using like a washcloth of your face everyday in the aspect of slightly exfoliating but not really? Haha, yes I’m still on this. Sorry.

          1. A clarisonic gets a deeper clean than your hands or a washcloth ever can. Think of a clarisonic as going into the pores and cleaning them out. An exfoliator gets the dead skin off. If you read on Clarisonic’s website they claim to “loosen” dirt and oil, but the exfoliator that you use will actually scrub it off.

          2. Alright, that makes sense. Thank you so much for your further explanation. I appreciate it!

  2. I just purchased the fresh peony brightening night treatment mask and was wondering when to apply; after I cleanse, exfoliate, tone,of course but should I apply my serums, night cream, and eye cream, then apply the mask, or apply just the mask?

  3. Just curious…how do you fit all those liquids into the one quart size bag you’re allowed for a carry-on?
